His entire career has been focused on cultivating relationships and bringing more value to his clients. Matthew Gorelik founded Township Capital in 2014. The inspiration for Township Capital came directly from needs of clients that Gorelik consistently found to be a roadblock in financial ventures. Gorelik set out to create the first premier Real Estate Investment Bank in the United States, so that investors and real estate moguls alike could feel supported through new projects and negotiations. Matthew Gorelik also saw this as a great opportunity to bring a dated industry into the digital age with high-touch business models more suited for business today.
Township Capital is currently targeting real estate developments that are fresh, have a lot of interest growing, and have an element of adaptive-reuse in the structure and appeal. Their reach currently spans the country, with 3 different headquarters in Los Angeles, California, Bingham Farms, Michigan, and Chicago, Illinois. The critical fundraising that Township Capital helps to provide a large amount of support for their clients as a passive partner.
Gorelik has enjoyed a successful career having personally served some of the world’s wealthiest families. He’s masterfully created lasting relationships with powerful capital sources including individuals, life insurance companies, conduit leaders, agencies, and banks. Matthew Gorelik has personally handled, both sourced and negotiated, nearly $5 billion in structured capital for many of the aforementioned parties. His dedication to client service and knowledge of the industry has given his client base the confidence that any client deserves to have in a significant venture.
Before founding his own company, Gorelik spent 15+ years as the Senior Vice President for Citi, one of the world’s leading financial institutions. After developing great relationships and learning a great deal about the industry, Matthew Gorelik moved on to become the Managing Director for Jefferies, and soon after, J.P. Morgan. After gaining what he could from these massively successful entities, Gorelik was inspired to move forward with his own venture in Township Capital.
When Gorelik isn’t working, he stays busy with speaking engagements across the country. He frequently participates in panel discussions in both NYC and LA at various iGlobal conferences. Matthew Gorelik also remains quite active with iGlobal, and volunteers often with the iGlobal Private Equity Real Estate Summit.
Matthew Gorelik currently lives in Beverly Hills, California with his wife, Krista, and their three children. In his free time, he and his wife volunteer with several community projects including the Greater Los Angeles Epilepsy Foundation where they both serve on the board, and as ambassadors at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.
